Questions
A true milsim game changer!
I will start with the obvious, the durable hard carry case that wears a TAGinn Grenadier patch. It is secured with two lockable sliding latches that keep the case closed while being transporting. Inside you will find custom laser cut foam that perfectly fits the HPA ML36 launcher, 13ci HPA tank, 5 MK2 casings, user manual, parts kit as well as a TAGinn Pro patch.
The fit and finish of the HPA ML36 leaves nothing to be desired. I was thoroughly impressed with my CO2 powered ML36, but the HPA ML36 takes it to a completely new level! No effort is required to see and appreciate the level of thought, engineering and quality control that goes into delivering a product of this magnitude.
The included steel 13ci 3,000psi HPA tank is fitted with a CNC aluminum buttstock and topped off with a Ninja Pro V2 SHP regulator tuned to 950 psi. There is a small ambidextrous red CNC aluminum lever on the rear air supply adapter that allows the system to be degassed prior to tank removal. On the left side of the launcher right above the button that opens the breech, there is a picatinny rail segment that is used for attaching the removable flip-up leaf sight. Once the breech is open, simply push it back closed and it will lock it. Pushing the safety from the left side of the launcher exposes a white dot on the right side signaling it is in the safe position. Pushing the safety from the right side of the launcher exposes a red dot on the left side signaling it is in the fire position. When the sight leaf is folded flat it shows a single marking for 25 meters and when it’s flipped up you can see laser etched markings for 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 meters on the leaf.
Prior to buying the HPA ML36, I owned the original CO2 powered ML36. I launched countless rounds through it at various milsim events giving me a keen understanding of the systems capabilities as well as its limitations. When I first got the CO2 ML36 I spent many hours practicing with the pecker foam practice rounds to help establish a realistic understanding of the accuracy and distances possible during game play. My only real complaint surrounding the CO2 ML36 was the low, 7 consistent shots count per 12g CO2 cartridge as well as the ever so often-leaky o-rings. But don’t you worry, ALL of those issues are non-existent with the HPA ML36. Plus, you get 35 consistent shots per 13ci tank not to mention additional range! The effective range of my CO2 ML36 was 120-130 meters and could sometimes reach 150 meters. CO2 cartridges can be finicky and subject to wild temperature swings between the morning and afternoon resulting shot to shot inconsistencies. Sometimes the first shot of a new CO2 cartridge felt like 90% power, shots 2-4 were at 100% power, shots 5-7 maybe 80% power and shots 8 and above you are wasting TAGinn rounds. None of those issues exist with the HPA ML36, the effective range is 150 meters for each and every shot of the 35 you get per tank.
I used the HPA ML36 at four major milsim events during the 2021 season, launching a total of 702 TAGinn rounds (approximately ≈60% Reapers & ≈40% Fates). After the first event, I purchased two additional 13ci tanks to keep at the FOB. This allowed me to stay on the AO from startex to endex and not have to leave for tank fills. After the third event, I purchased a paintball asa remote line and ran a 50ci/4500psi SHP tank in a hydration pouch. This was interesting approach that made changing back and forth from my primary to launcher very easy!
Words cannot describe how much of a game changer the HPA ML36 truly it. It is a force multiplier that must be reckoned with otherwise it won’t end well. Its super fun, easy to use and with a little practice you can deliver pyro with pinpoint accuracy at distances well over 100 meters!
